In Your Radiant Season Ep. 2

The second episode of In Your Radiant Season cleared the misunderstandings between Seon Woo-chan (played by Lee Shin-young) and Song Ha-ran (played by Seol In-ah). As the painful link they shared from seven years ago began to surface, it delivered a deeply moving experience for the audience.

1. The Identity of Kang Hyuk-chan and Woo-chan’s Accident

The mystery regarding the relationship between Ha-ran’s long-lost love, Kang Hyuk-chan, and the current Seon Woo-chan has finally been unveiled. Kang Hyuk-chan was actually the roommate of Seon Woo-chan, and he tragically lost his life in the Boston explosion. After the accident, Woo-chan survived by clinging to the fragments of memory he had of Ha-ran, eventually returning to Korea without even being certain if the woman he remembered was real.

2. The Stalker Incident and Ha-ran’s Trauma

The stalker who had terrified Ha-ran was revealed to be a culprit harboring a long-standing inferiority complex toward her, not Woo-chan. Although she escaped danger with Woo-chan's help, Ha-ran fell into a severe panic, fearing for her sister Ha-young's safety. The trauma of losing her parents and her lover right before her eyes resurfaced. Watching her struggle, Woo-chan stood silently by her side, offering comfort with an umbrella in the rain.

3. Fates Intertwining at Cafe "Rest": Na-bong and Man-jae

When the owner of Cafe "Rest" collapsed, unexpected past connections began to weave together. It was revealed that the dog "Cheon-jae" was actually named after the owner, Park Man-jae, and that Ha-ran’s grandmother, Nana Kim, was actually "Na-bong." This summoned fresh memories of their youthful days in Chuncheon. Meanwhile, due to his bond with the owner, Woo-chan decided to stay at the cafe for exactly three months, becoming Ha-ran’s neighbor.

4. [Ending] The Start of a 3-Month "Fake Relationship"

To avoid a misunderstanding with her grandmother, Ha-ran made a bold proposal to Woo-chan: "Let’s pretend to date." Woo-chan accepted as if he had been waiting for the offer. In reality, to Woo-chan, Ha-ran was the person who gave him a reason to live when he wanted to give up after the accident. Despite suffering from hearing loss in one ear as a permanent aftereffect of the explosion, Woo-chan vowed to stay close for these three months, hoping Ha-ran could return to a life full of color.
