'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess S2 Ep. 7

New challenges and bizarre magical mishaps have swept through the peaceful Hell-Lord’s Castle. Episode 7 delivered big laughs with an arc featuring the growth of apprentice torturer Sakura, the tear-jerking efforts of the penguin Pengta, and a nonsensical incident where the Princess was transformed into a bird.

1. Sakura’s First Step: Street Performance Torture

The protagonist of the first segment was Sakura. Encouraged by Torture Tortura to take the beginner torturer exam, Sakura chose "Street Performance Torture" after much deliberation. She delivered a performance so fantastic that even Torture forgot it was supposed to be an interrogation. Sakura successfully submitted her application, taking her first real step toward becoming an official torturer. It was a heartwarming scene where Sakura’s pure passion melted even Torture's heart.

2. Pengta the Penguin’s Passionate Struggle

Next was the ordeal of the Hell-world penguin, Pengta. Despite a heatwave, Pengta traveled all the way to the prison to fulfill Krull's request, putting on a soul-stirring penguin show while drenched in sweat. However, the performance ended up being a "hot-blooded" show—the exact opposite of the "relaxed and carefree" vibe the Princess was hoping for. Though it wasn't what she expected, the Princess was moved by Pengta’s sincerity and shared a secret anyway, showcasing the unique warmth of this series. The segment ended with Krull unintentionally monopolizing the food made by Hamjjang and Pengta, adding a bit of "mukbang" fun.

3. The Princess Becomes a Bird?

The final segment involved a magical surge that transformed the Princess into a bird. For the "Bird Princess," whose instincts overrode her ego, Torture showed her gentle side by carefully crushing nuts for her to eat. Watching Torture scramble to return the Princess to her original form so she could enjoy the Gateau au Chocolat she craved felt more like a doting guardian than a torturer. While her body eventually returned to normal, the episode reached a ridiculous conclusion as her head transformed into a smartphone emoticon—a perfectly upbeat ending for this series.

As the torture sessions in the Hell-Lord's Castle continue to head in unpredictable directions, one has to wonder: when exactly will the Princess's head return to its perfect, original state?
